Join the Salmon P. Chase Center for Civics, Culture and Society at its inaugural public event. A conversation between Ohio State President Walter “Ted” Carter Jr. and Johns Hopkins University President Ronald J. Daniels on citizenship education at America’s leading research universities.
Moderated by Chase Center Executive Director Lee J. Strang, the conversation will address the role of research universities in our country and how they educate and prepare students to be thoughtful and engaged citizens who both govern themselves and contribute to our self-governing republic. Representing a leading public and a leading private institution, respectively, Presidents Carter and Daniels will share their perspectives from their universities and on American higher education more broadly.
The conversation will be held at the U.S. Bank Conference Theater in the Ohio Union (1739 N. High St., Columbus, OH 43210). Space is limited, and advanced registration is strongly encouraged.
