Three scholarships totaling $7,500 will be available to the winners of a writing contest to be hosted March 28 by the Salmon P. Chase Center for Civics, Culture, and Society.
First place winner will receive $3,500, second place $2,500, and third place $1,500.
The contest is for undergraduate students enrolled in courses this spring at The Ohio State University. The first 47 students to sign up will be admitted to the competition. The live writing competition will be held from 1-2:30 p.m. March 28 in Baker Systems Engineering, Room 285. Students should plan to bring their student ID and to arrive 15 minutes before the start of the competition.
No outside electronic or other materials will be permitted.
Students will have 90 minutes to write an essay that is no longer than 1,000 words. While the general subject of the essays will be about the importance (or irrelevance) of citizenship, the exact topic will not be announced until the day of the competition.

Note: Federal regulations prohibit a student from receiving resources in excess of their total cost of attendance. For any questions regarding how accepting funds may impact your financial aid, email Buckeyelink or call 614-292-0300 with any questions.
