The formation of citizens and leaders begins well before students set foot on a college campus. That is why the Chase Center prioritizes initiatives to strengthen K-12 education by delivering professional development to middle- and high school teachers, building capacity for schools rooted in a classical and liberal arts tradition, and sharing our faculty’s expertise with educational partners.
We are excited to offer our "Teaching the U.S. Constitution" workshop in Summer 2027, and "Building Classroom Communities through Civil Discourse" in February 2027. Learn more about each below.
Founding Documents Summer Workshops (Summer 2027)
Founding Documents Summer Workshops
The Salmon P. Chase Center for Civics, Culture, and Society at The Ohio State University offers weeklong summer professional development workshops for civics, government, and history teachers from across the country.
These opportunities are designed for middle and high school teachers. These workshops increase teachers’ knowledge of and appreciation for the key texts and events that have shaped this nation’s history.
The Founding Documents Summer Workshops are made possible thanks to a generous grant from the U.S. Department of Education.
