Albert Cheng

Bio

Albert Cheng is an associate professor and assistant director for classical education at the Salmon P. Chase Center for Civics, Culture, and Society. His scholarship focuses on school choice, classical education, faith-based schooling, and homeschooling. Albert is also a research affiliate of the Program on Education Policy and Governance at Harvard University, a Senior Fellow at Cardus, and a regular co-host of The Learning Curve, an education podcast produced by the Pioneer Institute. Before joining the Chase Center, Cheng was an associate professor of education policy at the Department of Education Reform at the University of Arkansas. He has taught courses in education policy and philosophy. He also conducts research using quantitative methods to evaluate educational interventions and to inform K-12 education policy and practice. He holds a PhD in Education Policy from the University of Arkansas, an MA in Education from Biola University, and a BA in Pure Mathematics from the University of California, Berkeley. He is also a former public high school math teacher.
