Bio
Adam Kear serves as the Assistant Director of K-12 Partnerships and Curriculum at the Salmon P. Chase Center for Civics, Culture, and Society. He has more than 15 years of experience in classical education: teaching, researching, and developing curricula. He has designed professional development opportunities for teachers, coached school administrators on teacher performance evaluation, and advised institutional leadership on standards, governance, and partnerships.
Kear is a PhD candidate in Politics at Hillsdale College, where he previously earned an M.A. with concentrations in political philosophy and American political thought. He holds a Master of Humanities with a concentration in classical education from the University of Dallas. He was awarded an NEH grant to study Dante’s Commedia in Sienna, Italy after having completed a B.A. in philosophy, classical languages, and religious studies at the University of Pittsburgh.
His dissertation focuses on the intersection of religion, science, and politics in Aristophanes’ theologico-political vision. His other research interests include the writings of Edmund Burke, classical and civics education, and Catholic political thought.
